The History of Locanda Casalta

The rooms that welcome our guests today were once the Ancient stables of the fortified house higher than Strove, from which the name “Casalta” originates. Today they are the heart of a small hotel family-run, where time seems to slow down. Strove is not just a village of perfectly preserved beauty: it is also a historic transit point for Pilgrims of the Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage route that connects northwestern Europe to Rome, and then continues towards Puglia. Today it is an important European cultural itinerary of about 3,200 km, traversable on foot or by bicycle, which crosses 5 states and offers a tourist experience.
